Company
Profile
McIntosh Plant Hire (Aberdeen) Ltd stemmed from a company owned and run
by the current Managing Director’s father. Incorporated in 1976 the
company remains a wholly owned and run family business, operating from a
modern purpose built 40 acre site 10 miles west of Aberdeen in the scenic
North East Scottish countryside.
It was the boom in oil and gas pipelines and roads construction in the late
70’s / early 80’s which supplied the real impetus for the organisation
that exists today. Recognising that there was a real market requirement
for good quality, reliable earthmoving equipment the company invested heavily
in construction equipment and prides itself in having the largest and most
modern, well maintained fleet in the North East of Scotland today.
The company has a wealth of experience in every aspect of earthmoving and
general civil engineering groundworks and employs a 70 strong workforce.
Works undertaken include new housing and industrial developments, new construction
and upgrade of existing road networks and the construction of golf courses,
having completed five new Scottish courses to date.
McIntosh Plant Hire (Aberdeen) Limited also operates a subsidiary called
McIntosh Heavy Logistics (MHL) which is responsible for the operation of
a fleet of ten Low Loaders, both locally and throughout the United Kingdom.
Whilst MHL takes care of the in-house movement requirements for McIntosh
Plant Hire (Aberdeen) Ltd’s earthmoving equipment, its core business
is the transportation of equipment for many major companies within the oil
industry, being strategically located in the oil capital of Europe.
McIntosh Plant Hire (Aberdeen) Ltd is committed to quality of service and
competitive pricing and work very closely with customers to achieve this.
